Respondents PRAYER: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to allocate wards to the General and Scheduled Caste people in the forth coming local body election in Melamathur Alathur Taluk Perambalur District either on the basis of 18% reservation or population which was taken in 2011 census considering the representations made by the petitioner on 07-9-2016 and 12-09-2016.

The instant writ petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to allocate wards to the General and Scheduled Caste people in the forth coming local body election in Melamathur Alathur Taluk Perambalur District either on the basis of 18% reservation or population which was taken in 2011 census considering the petitioner's representations dated 07-92016 and 12-09-2016.

2. The relief sought for in the writ petition lost its relevance on account of efflux of time. Therefore, no further adjudication is required in this writ petition.

3. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of, as infructuous. No Costs.
