This petition is filed by the petitioners / appellants / claimants seeking exemption of payment of court fee for a sum of Rs.6,000/- in the above Appeal.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the breadwinner of the petitioners' family viz., Manivannan died in a road accident on 08.02.2015 and the Tribunal, based on the materials on record has awarded a sum of Rs.11,05,340/- with interest at 7.5% per annum, as total compensation, as against the claimed amount of Rs.18,00,000/-. He further submitted that due to the death of the deceased, the petitioners are distressed and they have no independent source of income to maintain themselves and hence, they sought for exemption from payment of court fee. He also submitted that the petitioners undertake to pay the court fee in the event of succeeding in the Appeal.

The learned counsel for the petitioners would also submit that the entire award amount, as ordered by the Tribunal, had already been deposited by the Transport Corporation and the same was withdrawn by the respective claimants / petitioners. In such circumstances, this Court is not inclined to accept this petition seeking exemption of paying court fee and the same is dismissed. However, eight weeks time is granted from today to pay the necessary court fee by the petitioners.
