Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to permit the petitioner and his followers to felicitate / wear the garland on the statute of Valvil Ori to be held on 03.08.2015 on the memorial day of Valvil Ori at Semmedu, Kolli Hills, Namakkal District by allowing specific time for half an hour. By consent, the writ petition is take up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner claims that he is the State General Secretary of the Kongu Nadu Vettuva Gounder Youth Welfare Association and according to his information Valvil Ori is one of the famous kings in that locality and each and every year in memory of Valvil Ori, the Government used to conduct function at Kolli Hills and during that function garland used to be offered to the statute of Valvil Ori by persons belonging to the petitioner's community. The petitioner would state that the function is going to be held on 03.08.2015 and https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the petitioner apprehends that, at the instance of persons who has developed animosity against the said association, neither himself nor the president of the said association may be permitted to garland the statute. In this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 20.07.2015, to the respondents and since he has not been favoured with any response, came forward to file this writ petition.

3. This Court heard the submission of Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader who accepts notice for the respondents 1 to 3.

4. Though the petitioner prays for a larger relief, in the facts and circumstances of the case, the third respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 20.07.2015, in accordance with law on or before 02.08.2015 and inform the decision taken to the petitioner forthwith. The writ petition is disposed of, accordingly. No costs.
