ORDER
The writ petition has been filed to issue a writ of mandamus to the respondents to pay the petitioner, the interest for the belated settlement of his Provident Fund Amount, Gratuity Amount and Leave Salary amount at the rate of 6% per annum within a time frame fixed by this Court. 2.
The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed in the 1st respondent-Transport Corporation and after rendering 32 years of service, he retired from service voluntarily as Senior Assistant on 10.05.2021. However, the terminal benefits have been settled to the petitioner only on 27.03.2023 and no interest has been paid for the delayed period. Therefore, the petitioner had submitted a representation to the respondents dated 17.03.2026, to pay the interest for the delayed period. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

4. Admittedly, the retirement benefits has been paid belatedly to the petitioner for no fault of his. Therefore, the petitioner is entitled to interest on the same. Accordingly, the writ petition is allowed as prayed for and a mandamus is issued directing the respondents to disburse 6% interest for the belated payment of Provident fund, Gratuity and Leave Salary amount within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. No costs.
