Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to dispose of the representation dated 07.12.2023 and provide the report of 8 Indian Navy Personnel in Qatar government are stable or unstable.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Acting Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.J.Janarthanan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Rajesh Vivekanandan, learned Deputy Solicitor General for the respondents 1 and 2.

2. The allegation of the petitioner is that the respondents have not disposed of his representation dated 07.12.2023 seeking a report in respect of the condition of eight Indian Navy personnel who were detained in Qatar.

3. Learned Deputy Solicitor General has produced a communication dated 07.02.2024 stating that the said eight Indian Navy personnel were released by Qatar Government in February, 2024.

4. In view of the above, except to record the above statement, no further order is necessary in the writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.24430 of 2024 is closed.
