This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus, seeking a direction against the respondents to pay the petitioner interest at the rate of 18% per annum, for the period of delay from 01.05.2023 to 09.03.2025, in paying the amounts paid towards his terminal benefits namely EPF Employee's Contribution, Gratuity and Encashment of Leaves and commutated value of pension. 2.In the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, it is stated that the petitioner joined the respondent Transport Corporation on 21.05.1987 as Conductor and retired from service upon attaining the age of superannuation on 31.05.2023. The petitioner was serving as Traffic Manager. According to the petitioner, the terminal benefits were disbursed with a delay and he now seeks interest for the delayed period. 3.A direction is therefore issued to the respondents to examine the petitioner's Service Register and verify the date when the amount was disbursed. If it is found that the amount was disbursed with 2/5

delay, interest at the rate of 6% per annum shall be granted from the date of retirement until the actual date of disbursement. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
