2.Heard Mr.M.Saravanakumar, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.S.Gunaseakran, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

3.The petitioner seeks for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the first respondent to dispose the appeal filed by him dated 19.9.2014 in pursuance to issue patta in his name for the house, ground and premises bearing Old No.8, New No.17, Hyder Garden 1st street, Chennai 600 012.

4.The petitioner appears to have sent an appeal to the District Collector by 'Speed Post'. However, no acknowledgment is produced to show that the appeal has received by the first respondent. 5.In any event, if the appeal is still pending, the first respondent shall consider the same and pass a reasoned order on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
