ORDER
The writ petition has been filed to issue a mandamus to the respondents to pay the petitioner the interest at the rate of 6% for the belated payment of his Provident Fund, Service Gratuity, Leave Salary and Commutation of Pension amount.
The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as Driver in the first respondent-Transport Corporation on 22.12.1991 and had retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation on 30.04.2025. However, the terminal benefits have been settled to the petitioner belatedly on 11.03.2026, and no interest has been paid for the delayed period. Therefore, the petitioner had submitted a representation to the respondents dated 16.03.2026, to pay him the interest for the delayed period. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed. 2/5
Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

Admittedly, the retirement benefits has been paid belatedly for no fault of the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner is entitled to interest on the same. Therefore, a mandamus is issued to the respondents to pay interest at the rate of 6% interest per annum for the belated payment of admissible terminal benefits from the date of retirement till the date ,nof actual disbursal of the terminal benefits of the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
