Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to declare that the provision introduced under Section 24(b), Class II- Other Members, Item(8) of the Bharathiar University Act, 1981 (Tamil Nadu Act 1 of 1982) as amended by the Bharathiar University (Amendment)act, 2021, in so far as it provides for nomination of five members from among the secretaries of the College committees of the affiliated private colleges (aided and self-financing) by the State Government as unconstitutional, arbitrary and violative of Article 14 and 19(1)(c) of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the respondents to provide election-based representation for the Secretaries of the affiliated private colleges in the syndicate of Bharathiar University.

Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India to grant an order of interim stay, staying the operation of the provision introduced under Section 24(b), Class II- Other Members, Item(8) of the Bharathiar University Act, 1981 (Tamil Nadu Act 1 of 1982) as amended by the Bharathiar University (Amendment) act, 2021, in so far as it provides for nomination of five members from among the secretaries of the College committees of the affiliated private colleges (aided and self-financing) by the

State Government.
