Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to implement G.O.(Ms).No.293, Health and Family Welfare Department, dated 18.06.2021, to enable the petitioners to get the monetary benefits as per the said G.O. every month from the date of issuance of the G.O by passing orders on the representations dated 03.04.2023.

ORDER

The petitioners have filed these writ petitions seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to implement G.O.(Ms).No.293, Health and Family Welfare Department, dated 18.06.2021, to enable the petitioners to get the monetary benefits as per the said government order every month from the date of its issuance, by passing orders on the representations dated 03.04.2023.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that even though the 2/5

government issued G.O.(Ms).No.293, Health and Family Welfare Department, dated 18.06.2021, granting revision of pay and allowances to the Medical Officers, the said government order has not been implemented by the respondent authorities till date. Seeking implementation of the said government order, the petitioners sent representations on 3.4.2023. As the said representations did not evoke any response, the petitioners were constrained to file these writ petitions. He further submitted that ends of justice would be met if a direction is given to the respondent authorities to consider the representations of the petitioners dated 3.4.2023 and pass appropriate orders as expeditiously as possible.

3. Mr.C.Kadhiravan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents, would submit that, if four weeks' time is granted, the respondent authorities will consider the representations of the petitioners dated 3.4.2023 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.

Considering the narrow scope of the relief sought by learned counsel for the petitioners, without going into the merits of the matter, these writ petitions are disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the representations of the petitioners dated 3.4.2023 and pass appropriate orders, on 3/5

merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
