O R D E R
The petitioners have filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to publish the results of the personal interviews held for "Direct Recruitment 2005" to the post of Helper in the Tamilnadu Electricity Board.
2.The case of the petitioners is that the respondent issued a publication in the 'Dinathanthi' on 14.01.2006 calling for applications for direct recruitment to the post of Helper in the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board through the Employment Exchange. The petitioners were sponsored by the concerned Employment Exchange. Thereafter, the respondent had called upon the petitioners to attend a personal interview before the Selection Committee at the respondent's Office on various dates between 21.02.2006 to 28.02.2006. As per the call letter, all the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
petitioners had participated in the personal interview on the concerned dates. However, the results were not announced. Aggrieved by the same, the writ petitioners have filed this writ petitions.
3.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent produced a copy of the Board Proceedings in Per.B.P.(FB) No.6, (Administrative Branch) Dated 03.02.2007, wherein it is stated that the said interview was conducted during February - March, 2006. It is further stated that the Government of Tamil Nadu has issued orders in G.O.Ms.No.98 P&AR (S) Department, dated 17.07.2006 relaxing the upper age limit by 5 years and further stated that the Board has decided to cancel the interview already made since if selection is made, it would be detrimental to the rights of the unemployed youth who will be covered by the said Government Order.
4.The copy of the Board Proceedings in Per.B.P.(FB) No.6, (Administrative Branch), dated 03.02.2007 is taken note of. After a lapse of nearly eleven years, I do not find any merit in entertaining this writ petition. Accordingly, this writ petition is closed. No costs.
