[Order of the Court was made by M.SATHYANARAYANAN, J.,] By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. Mr.R.Udhayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
The writ petition is styled as a Public Interest Litigation filed by the President of National South India Rivers Interlinking Farmers Association and according to him, there are very many encroachments on the public cart track in SF.Nos.214/2, 213/A1 and A2 and 213/B2 of Sathukoodal Village, Virudhachalam Taluk, Cuddalore District. The petitioner, in this regard, has submitted a representation dated 22.12.2017 to the 1st respondent on the Grievance Day and in response to the same, the District Rural Development Agency, Cuddalore, vide Memo bearing Na.Ka.No.A6/891/2017 dated 10.01.2018 has informed the petitioner that appropriate directions have been given to conduct enquiry on his representation and to communicate the decision taken in that regard to the petitioner and though nearly six months had lapsed, no progress has been made and therefore, the petitioner is constrained to approach this Court by filing the present writ petition.
Heard the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.R.Udhayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and perused the materials placed before it.
This Court, taking into consideration the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner, either in his representation or in this writ petition, directs the 3rd respondent to act on the above cited Memo and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner and to the alleged encroachers / concerned persons if any, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
