Petitioner has filed this Writ Petition seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider her representation dated 20.04.2019 and change her category from UR to BC in Application No.190410136788 for admission in MBBS/BDS courses 2019.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for respondents.
3. Petitioner submits that she belongs to Sengundhar community, which is notified as Backward Community by the Government. She further submits that she applied for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (UG) 2019 (NEET) for admission in MBBS/BDS Courses. While applying for NEET online, she has inadvertently registered the category as UR, though she belongs to BC category. She further submits that the said mistake was found by her only when she received the Admit Card in Roll No.410209815. Thereafter, she made a representation dated 20.04.2019 to respondent No.1, requesting them to change the category from UR to BC. Since no action has been taken on the said representation, the petitioner is before this Court with the present Writ Petition.
4. In response, learned counsel for respondents submitted that necessary action will be taken on the representation of the petitioner at the earliest.
5. Considering the submissions made, this Court directs respondent No.1 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.04.2019 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
