This petition has been filed to direct the respondents to provide police protection for conducting 'Balalayam' in Sri Shyamala Devi Temple, Mayuranathar North Street, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam District on 12.09.2018.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner gave a representation on 03.09.2018 to the second respondent seeking permission and also police protection for performing 'Balalayam' in the aforesaid temple, but so far the respondents have not passed any order and hence he requests to direct the respondents to provide police protection for performing 'Balalayam' in the aforesaid temple on 12.09.2018. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents has submitted that the petitioner is representing for one party and the said party is claiming right over the said temple for performing 'Balalayam' on 12.09.2018. He further submitted that other group also gave a representation seeking permission and also police protection for performing the same function in the said temple on 12.09.2018 itself and hence, the respondents are not in a position to provide police protection to the petitioner.
4. Admittedly, the representation was submitted by the petitioner on 03.09.2018 to the second respondent but so far, the second respondent has not passed any order on the said representation. Therefore, the second respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 03.09.2018 and pass order in accordance with law on or before 11.09.2018 and inform to the petitioner.
With the aforesaid observation, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
