ORDER

By consent the writ petition is taken for final hearing.

2. The prayer in this writ petition is for a Mandamus to direct the second respondent to return the original driving licence bearing No.TN21X19950000466 to the petitioner forthwith. The subject matter involved in this writ petition is identical and covered by an order of the Division Bench of this Court in P.Sethuram vs. The Licensing Authority, The Regional Transport Officer, Dindigul {2010 Writ L.R. 100}. The said order of the Hon'ble Division Bench is subsequently followed in the writ petition in W.P.No.1813 of 2015 dated 2.2.2015.

3. Section 19(1) of the Motor Vehicles Act, also stipulates certain conditions for cancellation or revocation of licence which was considered by the Hon'ble Division Bench stated supra. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. Hence, similar order is passed in this writ petition also with a direction to the second respondent to return the driving licence to the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
