ORDER

By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

2. This petition has been filed for a direction, directing the 1st respondent

to issue petitioner passport as expeditiously as possible which was applied on 23.11.2025 based on petitioner application in ARN No.25-1066528901.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner while obtaining passport in the year 2015, she was engaged to one Gunasekaran and his name was given as spouse before the marriage was solemnised. However, owing to demise of her father, their marriage was cancelled and subsequently, she was married to one Karthikeyan Mohan on 02.05.2016. While things stood thus, the petitioner applied for renewal of passport and rectification of the spouse name from Gunasekaran to Karthikeyan Mohan vide application dated 23.11.2025, however, the same is pending. Hence, seeks for a direction. 4.Heard both sides and perused the materials placed on record.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court without going into the merits of the case directs the first respondent to consider the application of the petitioner dated 23.11.2025 and pass appropriate order on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.

6. Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. 20-04-2026
