ORDER
(This case has been heard through video conference) This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the second respondent to grant adequate police protection to the life and liberty of the petitioner and to his family members.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents 1 and 2.
3. Today, when the petition came up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1 & 1/2 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
2, on instructions, would submit that though it is stated that a representation has been given by the petitioner, the same has not been received by the respondents-police, till date. However, one Jayakumar, who is a rival party to the petitioner gave a complaint before the Station House Officer, Selaiyur and the same is taken up for enquiry in CSR No.110 of 2019. Subsequently, since the alleged occurrence has happened within the limits of Vadamalai Police Station, the said enquiry has been transferred to Vadamalai Police station and the enquiry was completed in CSR No.459 of 2020. Therefore, no enquiry is pending against the petitioner, as of now .
4. In view of the submissions made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents-police and in the absence of any representation, the question of Police protection will not arise.
5. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
