Petition praying that in the circumstances stated therein the High Court will be pleased to suspend the conviction and sentence imposed on the petitioners in C.C.No.13 of 2013 dated 14.12.2020 on the file of the Special Judge, Special Court under TNPID Act, Coimbatore pending disposal of the above CRL A.NO.331/2021 . Order : This petition coming on for orders upon perusing the petition and upon hearing the arguments of NO APPEARANCE of Advocate for the Petitioner and of MR. S.SUGENDRAN, Govt. Advocate ( Crl.Side) on behalf of the Respondent the court made the following order:- (The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioners have filed the petition seeking to suspend the conviction and sentence imposed on them in C.C.No.13 of 2013 dated 14.12.2020 on the file of the learned Special Judge, Special Court Under TNPID Act, Coimbatore.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that there are several infirmities and inconsistencies in the prosecution case and there are arguable points in the main criminal appeal. He would further submit that the petitioners are now confined in Central Jail, Coimbatore, Coimbatore District.

3. The learned Govt. Advocate (Crl.side) would strongly object the petition and submits that in this case A1 is a Firm. A2 to A5 had canvassed and invited deposits from the general public on the false promise of giving higher rate of interest and subsequently, they failed to repay the same on the date of maturity and a total sum of Rs.2,33,27,500/- have been cheated by the accused.

4. Considering the serious nature of offence and that the amount involved is very huge and thereby, this Court is not inclined to suspend the sentence imposed on the petitioners.
