By consent, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioner claims to be the headman of A/M Sri Kamtchi Amman Koil and also a permanent resident of Regunathapuram (Natham), Therkupattam (Post, Valangaiman Taluk, Thiruvarur District and he intends to conduct cultural program, which includes song and dance programme in connection with the Temple Festival on 03.06.2016 and in this regard, submitted a representation to the respondent on 08.05.2016 praying for appropriate permission to conduct the cultural program. However, the said representation was rejected by the respondent on 09.05.2016 and hence, the petitioner has come up with this writ petition.

Heard the submissions of Mr.K.Shanmugam, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Ms.P.Rajalakshmi, learned Government Advocate, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and she has drawn the attention of this Court to the refusal order passed by the respondent dated 09.05.2016 and in the absence of challenging the said order, the writ petition is not maintainable and prays for dismissal of the same.
4. This Court has considered the said submission.
5. A perusal of the order rejecting the application would disclose no reason whatsoever has been assigned by the respondent and hence on the short ground, the said order warrants interference.
6. In the result, the order dated 09.05.2016 passed by the respondent is set aside and the respondent is once again directed to consider the representation dated 08.05.2016 submitted by the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders on or before 01.06.2016 and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
