JUDGMENT

(Delivered by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The writ appeal has been filed to assail the judgment dated 4.3.2021 passed by the learned Single Judge.

2. The writ petition was filed at the stage when the appellant was denied admission to Three-Year L.L.B. Course for the academic year 2020-2021. The writ petition and the writ appeal would be infructuous for seeking admission to L.L.B. Course for the academic year 2020-2021, as now the academic year 2022-2023 has started.

3. In any case, the learned Single Judge has given reason for denial of the admission to the appellant. Taking into consideration the fact that the Committee headed by Mr.Justice R.S.Ramanathan (Retired) had rejected the appellant's application, as per the rank secured by him and that the process of selection was already completed, the learned Single Judge refused to grant any relief to the appellant.

Learned counsel for the appellant submits that without disclosing the marks of the last candidate given admission in the order of merit and the marks of the petitioner, the order has been passed by the learned Single Judge. Thus, without properly addressing the issue, the writ petition was dismissed.

5. We have considered the submission and find that the dismissal of the writ petition was after recording the reason for denial of admission. The marks of the last candidate who was granted admission in the order of merit has not been disclosed, but that by itself would not improve the case of the appellant, when she is unable to state that any candidate scored lesser marks than her had been granted admission. Moreover, a direction for admission for the academic year 2020-2021 cannot be given now.

In view of the above, we find no reason to interfere with the order of the learned Single Judge. The writ appeal is, accordingly, dismissed. There will be no order as to costs.
