The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 17.07.2016 for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(a) r/w. 4(1-A) of Tamilnadu Prohibition Act in Crime No.374 of 2016 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner is alleged to have found in illegal possession of 10 litres of illicit arrack.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.

Side) submitted that the petitioner is involved in six previous cases and hence, opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has not committed any such offence and a false case has been foisted against him and that she is in custody from 17.7.2016.

5. Taking note of the bad antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner and the petition is dismissed.
