This petition has been filed to enlarge the petitioner on bail in CC No. 103 of 2020 before the Principal Special Judge for cases under NDPS Act, Chennai.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the respondent police found the accused persons with illegal possession of 22.695 kgs of Tramadol tablets. Hence, the case.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner not known about what is inside the Cargo who was a forwarding agent working in Mrs. Lakshmi Cargo Company. Further, the petitioner was not aware of the contents in the said cargo nor a beneficiary of the outcome as the said consignment alleged to have been contained tramadol tablets was ordered by A1, manufactured and sold by one R.Vadivel. Further, he submitted that the petitioner has been in jail for more than four years. Hence, he prays to allow this petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. side) submits that the petitioner has not cross examine the witness before the Trial Court.

5. Considering the fact that the contraband seized from the accused person is commercial quantity. Hence, this Court is not inclined to allow this petition. Further, the District Legal Service authority, Chennai, is directed to arrange counsel for the petitioner to conduct the Trial. Accordingly, this petition is dismissed. 20.06.2024 pbl
