ORDER
The petitioner entered the service of Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board as Electrician in the scale of pay of Rs.950-1500 with effect from 13.7.89. Since similarly placed persons with SSLC and ITI qualification like that of the petitioner were re-designated as Electrician Grade-I by the orders passed by the first respondent Board on 18.9.2006, the petitioner has given his representation on 30.1.2017 requesting the first respondent to re-designate him as Electrician Grade I in the scale of pay of Rs.4000-6000 with effect from September 2004. Kovilpatti, in his letter No.F.WCE/7785/EA/17 dated 21.7.2017, made his further recommendation to the first respondent to promote/re-designate the petitioner as Electrician Grade I in the time scale of pay of Rs.4000-6000 with effect from September 2004.
In spite of the representation followed by the recommendation made by the Executive Engineer, TWAD Board, Maintenance Division, Kovilpatti, the second respondent herein, no order has been passed by the first respondent. Since the petitioner is fastly nearing his date of superannuation in the year 2018, he has approached this Court with the present writ petition.
2. It is at this stage, the learned standing counsel for the respondents sought for four weeks time to consider the petitioner's representation, in the light of the recommendation made by the second respondent dated 21.7.2017.
3. Placing on record the request made by the learned standing counsel for the respondents, the first respondent is hereby directed to consider and dispose of the pending representation of the petitioner, in the light of the recommendation made by the Executive Engineer, TWAD Board, Maintenance Division, Kovilpatti, the second respondent herein, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
