ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by SATISH K. AGNIHOTRI, J.) Mr. P.S. Sivashanmugasundaram, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice for the respondent. With the consent of the learned counsel for the parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal, at the admission stage itself. Seeking a direction to the respondent to issue Kurumans (S.T.) community certificate to them and their children based on their representations dated 6th April 2015 and 21st May 2015 respectively, the petitioners, who are said to be siblings, have preferred the instant writ petition.

The case of the petitioners is that they made the aforestated applications seeking issuance of the said social status/community certificate, enclosing a copy of the proceedings https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

dated 27th March 2015 of the State Level Scrutiny Committee, whereunder, the Kurumans (S.T.) community certificate of their sister by name M. Sumathi has been verified and found to be genuine. As such, they and their children are also entitled to get such certificate. Nonetheless, the applications are still pending consideration. Hence, the present writ petition for the aforestated relief.

The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent submits that after proper enquiry, examining the relevant documents enclosed with the petitioner's applications, appropriate orders shall be passed within a period of four weeks. Regard being had to the fact that the application for issuance of the aforestated community certificate is pending consideration, we are not inclined to make any observation. However, we deem it proper to direct the concerned authority/the respondent to consider the application, conduct enquiry and examine all relevant documents produced before it and take the final decision on application, on its own merit and in accordance with law. The competent authority is further required to examine the certificate of the relative M. Sumathi with regard to the relationship as the said certificate has high probative value and the same cannot be discredited and wished away lightly. The respondent is directed to take the decision expeditiously.

With the above observation and direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. Costs made easy.
