Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to extend the benefits of G.O.Ms.No.747 Finance (Pay Cell) Department dated 18.08.1986 and G.O.Ms.No.1024 Education Science and Technology Department dated 09.12.1993 to the petitioner by considering his representation dated 11.11.2014.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. 2.The petitioner would state that he was appointed as Teacher on 04.07.1959 and was promoted as Head Master of a Primary School on 13.04.1961 and on 07.07.1972, was appointed as a Teacher in High School. The petitioner would further state that from 07.07.1972, he worked as a Secondary Grade Teacher and thereafter, was appointed as P.G. Assistant on 01.01.1974 and worked as such till he attained the age of superannuation on 31.08.1991. It is further stated by the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

petitioner that he has completed B.Ed. Degree ins 1977 and got increment during May 1979 and completed M.A.(Tamil) Post Graduate Degree and subsequently completed M.Ed., during 1986. 3.It is the claim of the petitioner that in terms of G.O.Ms.No.747 Finance (Pay Cell) Department dated 18.08.1986, the P.G.Teacher and Head Master who possess or acquire Post Graduate Qualification namely, M.Ed., Degree shall be granted two advance increments in the scales of pay admissible to them and similarly, as per G.O.Ms.No.1024 Education, Science and Technology Department dated 09.12.1993, another advance incentive increment is also provided and the petitioner in this regard has submitted a representation dated 17.10.2013 to the respondents and since, no orders have been passed came forward to file this writ petition.

4.Heard the submissions of Mr.T.R.Raj Gajenthran, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. 5.Though the petitioner prayed for a larger relief, this Court in the light of the facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the same, directs the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 17.10.2013 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. 6.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
