This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the respondent authorities to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 25.05.2022 and not to form any road in Arthanareeswarer temple property comprised in S.No.798/23 measuring about 5242 sq.ft., Aravamudha Garden Street, Block No.37, Egmore Village, Egmore Taluk, Chennai District. When the matter was taken up for hearing, learned counsel appearing for the respondents 4 to 8 submitted that the respondents 4 to 8 are petitioners in W.P.No.8449 of 2019, which was heard by the Division Bench of this Court and judgment was passed on 13.02.2024. For better appreciation, relevant portion of the judgment is extracted hereunder: "7. However, the said street, namely, Aravamudhu Garden Street, Egmore, Chennai - 600 008 even if declared as temple property, it should continue as a road for the benefit of the public and to be maintained by the Corporation of Chennai for providing infrastructure and basic amenities to the residents of that locality. Thus the Corporation of Chennai is directed to remove all the encroachments identified in the said street, namely, Aravamudhu Garden Street, Egmore, Chennai - 600 008, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, except the temple situate at the end of the street."

3. In view of the aforesaid judgment passed by the Division Bench of this Court in W.P.No.8449 of 2019, dated 13.02.2024, this writ petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
