Respondents Prayer: The writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 24.03.2017 sent to the respondents and take suitable action due on the part of each of them for the purpose of payment of compensation to the writ petitioners for acquisition of their house sites in Plot No.42, Thirukural Nagar comprised in Old Survey No.424/3, New Survey No.424/4 measuring 1500 sq.ft. at Ammapet Village, Salem within the time frame as may be stipulated by this Court. The petitioners made a representation on 24.03.2017 to the respondents seeking compensation for the land acquired on the premise that in pursuant to the order passed by this Court quashing the proceedings under the Urban Land Ceiling Act, they become the owner and therefore, for the acquired land, they have to be duly compensated. As the said representation is still pending consideration, the present writ petition has been filed.
2. Heard Mr.D.Shivakumaran, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr.S.Diwakar, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3. Taking note of the pendency of the representation, a direction is issued to the third respondent to dispose of the representation of the petitioners dated 24.03.2017 within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
