Petition filed under Article 226 of The Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to carry out the amendment in the service register to correct the petitioner's date of birth as 24.07.1958 instead of 05.09.1957 on the basis of the birth certificate issued by the Municipal authorities.

By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioner would state that on 01.03.2000 he was appointed as Lecturer in Mazharool Uloom College at Ambur and it is an aided college and subsequently, he was promoted as Associate Professor. The petitioner would state that though he was born on 24.07.1958, in the S.S.L.C. Book, his date of birth was entered as 05.09.1957 and on becoming aware of the same, he submitted a representation dated 07.07.2015 to the respondents praying for alteration of his date of birth in the relevant records. Since he has not been favoured with any response, came forward to file the present writ petition. 3.Heard the submissions of Mr.D.Rajagopal, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of respondents 1 and 2 and Mr.V.Gangatharan, learned counsel, who accepts notice for the third respondent.

4.Though the petitioner prayed for a larger relief, this Court, without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner, directs the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 07.07.2015, in accordance with law and pass orders, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
