O R D E R

(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 14.06.2020 for the offences punishable under Sections 392 r/w 397 of IPC in Crime No. 2436 of 2020, on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

The case of the prosecution as per the defacto complainant viz., Suresh is that he is a lorry driver and on 12.06.2020 around 6 p.m., the petitioner has waylaid him and threatened him with a knife and robbed an amount of Rs.3,000/-. Hence, the complainant. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and since, he has other previous cases, a false case has been foisted against him to keep him in detention. He would further submit that the petitioner was arrested on 14.06.2020. Hence, he prays to grant bail to the petitioner.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent would submit that on 12.06.2020, the petitioner had waylaid the defacto complainant and threatened him with knife and robbed an amount of Rs.3,000/-. He would further submit that the petitioner is a notorious history sheeter and that there are 22 previous cases pending against him. Hence, he vehemently opposed to grant bail to the petitioner.

Taking into consideration the facts and submissions made by the learned counsel and considering the fact that the there are several previous cases pending against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
