This Criminal Original Petition is filed, seeking direction upon the second respondent/Police to register a case based on his complaint, dated 11.09.2015.

It is submitted by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor representing the respondent-Police that the complaint lodged by the petitioner, dated 11.09.2015, was enquired into by the Inspector of Police, Viruthampattu Police Station, viz., the second respondent herein. During enquiry, it came to light that offence had taken place within the jurisdiction of Vellore North Police Station. Therefore, the second respondent/Police advised the petitioner to approach the Vellore North Police Station, and the petitioner has also given a letter, dated 06.10.2015, agreeing to it.

In the above circumstances, this Criminal Original Petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to lodge a fresh complaint before the Inspector of Police, Vellore North Police Station. On receipt of such complaint, the Inspector of Police, Vellore North Police Station is directed to investigate into the matter, and register a crime, if cognizable offence is made out, by following the dictum laid down by the Hon'ble Apex Court in re Lalita Kumari vs. Govt. of U.P. & others reported in [2013 (4) Crimes 243 (SC)].
