O R D E R
This petition has been filed to direct the respondent Nos.2 and 3 to provide police protection to the petitioner and family members to participate in Arulmigu Sri Selva Vinayagar and Sri Maha Selvamariamman Temple festival, Maha Kumbaishegam which
scheduled to be held from 10.09.2018 to 13.09.2018.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner's family is entitled to participate in the festival and also in the aforesaid Maha Kumbabishegam to be held from 10.09.2018 to 13.09.2018. He further submitted that in the last year, the petitioner was attacked and hence a case is registered in Crime No.136 of 2017 against the 4th respondent herein and hence the petitioner is having apprehension that if she participated in the aforesaid festival, she may be assaulted this year also therefore she has submitted a representation to the respondents 1 and 2 on 24.08.2018, but, so far, they have not passed any order.
3. The learned public prosecutor who is appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 has submitted that the 3rd respondent is prepared to provide police protection to the petitioner and her family members to participate in the above said festival in the aforesaid temples.
4. The learned counsel for the 4th respondent has submitted that already Maha Kumbabishegam has been held in aforesaid temples. However, he has admitted that tomorrow a festival has to be conducted in the aforesaid temple.
5. Considering the aforesaid submissions, the 3rd respondent is directed to police protection to the petitioner and her family members to participate in the festival to be held tomorrow in the aforesaid temples.
6. with the aforesaid submissions, this petition is disposed of . No costs.
