ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Acting Chief Justice) This contempt petition is filed for the alleged disobedience of the order dated 29.01.2024 in W.A. No. 2231 of 2023, in and by which, this court directed the petitioners to make representations to engage them as casual labourers, and further directed the respondents to consider the said representations within a period of six weeks.

2. Heard both sides and perused the materials placed before this court.

3. It appears that the second respondent, by order dated 20.01.2024, citing various reasons, rejected the representations of the petitioners. It is also brought to the notice of this court that similarly placed persons have already filed W.P.No.10599 of 2024 challenging the said rejection order passed by the second respondent. Therefore, this court is inclined to close this contempt petition, which has been agreed upon by the learned counsel appearing on either side.

4. Accordingly, this contempt petition stands closed. However, liberty is granted to the petitioners to take such legal recourse, if so advised. Consequently, connected sub applications are also closed. (R.M.D., ACJ.) (M.S.Q., J.) 14.06.2024 Index :
