COMMON ORDER These writ petitions have been filed to direct the respondents to provide Domestic Electricity Connection to the petitioner's newly constructed houses situated at Kallikuppam, Ambattur, Chennai-600 053, comprised in S.No.773/2A1A of Korattur Village, Kallikuppam, Chennai, by considering the petitioner's application/representation dated 16.03.2026. 2.The petitioners have purchased their respective properties for a valuable consideration from their vendors and the petitioners have constructed a house in their properties. It is the contention of the petitioners that one V.Saravanan residing in the adjacent house in the same Survey Number in S.No.773/2A1A has obtained electricity service connection. Further, one Ramasamy running an illegal business in the same Survey Number has also been given electricity service connection for commercial use. It is their further contention that one V.Arunmozhi has also obtained domestic electricity service connection for his house in the same Survey Number pursuant to the orders of this Court in W.P.No.50284 of 2025, dated 05.01.2026.
3.It is the grievance of the petitioners that, despite electricity service connections being given to other houses in the same Survey Number, the
petitioners' houses have not been given electricity service connection. Therefore, the petitioners submitted a representation to the respondents in this regard on 16.03.2026. Since no action was forthcoming, the petitioners have come forward with these writ petitions.
4.Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the respondents may be directed to consider and dispose of the petitioners' representation within a specific time frame.
5.Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents would fairly submit that the 3rd respondent may be directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioners within a period of twelve weeks. 6.In view of the submissions made on either side and having regard to the limited nature of relief sought for in the writ petition, the 3rd respondent is directed to consider the representations filed by the petitioners dated 16.03.2026 and dispose of the same, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.With this direction, these writ petitions are disposed of. No costs. 16-04-2026
