The petitioner herein seeks expeditious investigation on the complaint given in connection with hit and run. 1/4

2. The victim is the husband of the petitioner. On 07.07.2022, the police has registered a case in Crime No.376 of 2022 for the offence under Section 279 and 337 of I.P.C later altered to Section 304-A of I.P.C on the death of accident victim. Though, in the complaint, details of the offending vehicle not been fully given, except the colour of the car, later, the petitioner has gathered certain informations about the hit and run vehicle and had informed to District Superintendent of Police about the identity of the offending vehicle but, no action been taken by the respondent police on the clue provided.

3. The Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner states that on 04.08.2022, the petitioner has informed the District Superintendent of Police about the registration number and while colour of the car. Inspite of furnishing the registration number till date, the police has not acted upon with the information furnished by the CCTV footage collected.

4. The Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondent states that the CCTV footage had provided no clue about the hit and run vehicle. The local witness also not able to give any information about the vehicle.

In view of the informations and material placed, the respondent police is hereby directed to probe about the hit and run offending vehicle based on the information provided by the petitioner herein and complete the investigation, within a period of four months, from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

6. With the above observation, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
