By consent of both sides, the writ petitions are taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

2. This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents herein to consider the petitioner for the post of Panchayat Secretary, Thanikottagam Panchayat, in Vedaranyam Panchayat Union of Nagapattinam District, as per his application dated 04.04.2018.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner had passed the Higher Secondary course and registered his name in the District Employment Exchange. In the meanwhile, the second respondent through his notification called for the recruitment to the post of Panchayat Secretary of Thanikottagam Panchayat, in Vedaranyam Panchayat Union of Nagapattinam District. The petitioner possessed all the requisite qualification for the appointment to the said post. Hence, the petitioner has applied for the post of Panchayat Secretary of Thanikottagam Panchayat on 04.04.2018. It is further stated that the second respondent herein vide letter dated 24.04.2018 has stated that on being found as qualified, the petitioner will be called for interview and an interview would also be conducted. But, till date the petitioner was not called for by the respondents for the selection

of the above post. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with this writ petition seeking for the aforesaid relief.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Additional Government Pleader who took notice on behalf of the respondents.

5. Considering the limited scope of relief sought for by the petitioner and also considering the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing on either side, this Court directs the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the application of the petitioner dated 04.04.2018 on or before 31.07.2018, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.

6.With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. 17.05.2018 Speaking order/Non speaking order Index : Yes/No Internet: Yes/No ah/arr
