ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 1st Respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 10.02.2026. 2.The contention of the petitioner is that he sent a representation dated 10.02.2026 to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Economic Offences Wing,

Chennai. The petitioner purchased the property at Old No.14E, New No.136, Seeyalam 1st Lane, Villivakkam, Chennai, via a registered sale deed No.2403 of 2018 from one Sadhasivam asserting that it was a bonafide transaction. Since the purchase, the petitioner has been in peaceful possession and enjoyment of the property. However, the petitioner subsequently learned that the respondents are taking steps to attach the property on the ground that it is involved in Cr.No.21 of 2022.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents submitted that petitioner purchased the property from Sadasivam who had four liquidators. A31, is one of the liquidators is an accused in this case. The matter involves approximately Rs.1620 crores affecting 33,292 victims, and the investigation is on going. Steps are being taken to attach the 1⁄4 th share i.e 614 square feet belonging to A31 / Surender Kumar. It was further submitted that the petitioner may approach the concerned District Revenue Officer or the TNPID Court to raise attachment by proving bonafide nature of the purchase. 4.In view of the submissions made, this Court passes the following order: i)The petitioner is granted liberty to approach the Special Court under the TANPID Act or the Competent Authority (DRO) by filing an application to raise the attachment or to protect their specific portion of the property.

ii)If such an application is filed, the Special Court/Competent Authority shall consider the petitioner's claim on its own merits and pass orders in accordance with the law.

iii)The 1st respondent is directed to provide the petitioner with a copy of the attachment proceedings, if any, to enable them to file the necessary application.

5.With the above direction, this Petition is disposed of. No costs. 29-04-2026 ep
