2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the following corrections may be carried out in the order dated 17.04.2026 passed in Crl.OP.No.9144 of 2026:

i) in paragraphs 5 and 6, the date of appearance before the respondent Police may be read as "14.05.2026" instead of "29.04.2026". ii) in paragraph 2, the following sentence may be substituted: "2. The case of the petitioner is that he was a power agent of landlord, who had prior business dealings with the Partnership Firm. ..."

3. Considering the above submission, this Court directs the Registry to carry out the aforesaid corrections and issue a fresh order copy to the parties forthwith. In all other aspects, the order dated 17.04.2026, shall remain unaltered.

ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents not to harass the petitioner under the guise of enquiry.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he was a power agent in a partnership Firm, which had prior business dealings with a landlord. However, the partnership got dissolved and the power granted to the petitioner was also cancelled. Therefore, the petitioner has got nothing to do with the business. While that being so, one Anbu Thambi, father of one of the partners, lodged a complaint claiming amounts due from the period when the partnership was in force. The said complaint is false and baseless.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that on 13.03.2026 and 25.03.2026, the petitioner appeared before the respondent Police and gave an undertaking that he would submit the available documents with him to establish his innocence. Instead of doing so, he had filed the above petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) further submitted that current paper is pending and once the petitioner appears and furnishes his explanation along with supporting documents, the same will be recorded and further action will be taken.

5. The learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner is ready to appear before the respondent Police on 29.04.2026 and give his explanation.

6. Considering the above submissions, this Court directs the petitioner to appear before the respondent Police on 29.04.2026 and give his explanation. On his appearance, the respondent Police shall conduct the enquiry and take further action in accordance with law.

7. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
