Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing respondents to consider petitioner's representations dated 23.09.2016 and 29.09.2016 and rectify the errors crept in the voters list in Ward No.20, Poonamallee Municipality by conducting proper field verification before conducting the Municipal elections for the year 2017.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of writ of Mandamus directing respondents to consider petitioner's representations dated 23.09.2016 and 29.09.2016 and rectify the errors crept in the voters list in Ward No.20, Poonamallee Municipality by conducting proper field verification before conducting the Municipal elections for the year 2017. 2.The petitioner made two complaints on 23.09.2016 and 30.09.2016 inter alia alleging that in the voters list of 20th ward the voters belonging to 19th and 21st wards are found place to the extent of 54. On receipt of the same, the Private Secretary of the 2nd respondent has directed the 6th respondent to look into it as seen from the proceedings in Na.Ka.No.24068/2016/PC1, dated 01.11.2016. The 6th respondent in and by proceedings in Na.Ka.No.623/2016/C1 dated 30.09.2016 has forwarded the same by noting the factum of double entry in the voters list as alleged by the petitioner with a request to take appropriate action. Now the writ petition has been filed seeking appropriate orders on the same.

3.In view of the aforesaid facts, a direction is issued to the 5th respondent to take appropriate action in pursuant to the communication of the 6th respondent dated 30.09.2016 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
