Petition filed under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to issue Patta to the petitioner pertaining to the land situated at Uthandi Village, Kancheepuram District, comprised in S.No.29/1, measuring an extent of 10 cents based on petitioner's title to the land by virtue of the assignment of lands dated 1.3.1974 by collecting the then value of the land of Rs.2500/- by the then Special Tahsildar for Assignment, Saidapet, Chennai.

O R D E R

The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to issue Patta to him pertaining to the land situated at Uthandi Village, Kancheepuram District, comprised in S.No.29/1, measuring an extent of 10 cents based on his title to the land by virtue of the assignment of lands dated 1.3.1974, by collecting the then value of the land of Rs.2500/- by the then Special Tahsildar for Assignment, Saidapet, Chennai.

2.Mr.M.Kalyanasundaram, learned Senior counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that inspite of the petitioner's https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

representation for the issuance of assignment patta dated 19.05.2017, the second respondent has not passed any order so far.

3.Mr.S.N.Parthasarathi, learned Government Advocate, taking notice for the respondents submitted that the second respondent may be directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.05.2017 and pass orders in accordance with law.

4.Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for in the writ petition, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.05.2017 for the issuance of assignment patta and pass orders in accordance with law, within four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With this observation, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
