Respondents --- PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take stringent measures to execute the Non-Bailable Warrants issued by the Subordinate Courts throughout the State of Tamil Nadu and to investigate the pending Criminal complaints and file final reports at the earliest and further direct Respondents 1 & 2 to supervise their subordinates for proper execution of Non-Bailable Warrants and investigation and filing final reports and also to direct Respondents 1 and 2 to direct their subordinates to attend the review meetings convened by the Chief Judicial Magistrates / Chief Metropolitan Magistrate periodically to reduce the pendency of Non-Bailable Warrants / First Information Reports. --- For Respondents : Mr. S.T.S. (Made by The Hon'ble The Chief Justice) The suo-motu proceedings were taken up on the basis of a report that large number of non-bailable warrants remain unexecuted. Four years have passed. Now the ground reality has changed. At the relevant stage, directions had already been issued.
