O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the respondents herein to provide police protection to the petitioners.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner; learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents and perused the materials placed on record.

3. It is seen that, the petitioners were in love with each other and they ultimately got married on 03.08.2015, despite strong objections by the parents of the 2nd petitioner. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. The Hon'ble Supreme Court in Lata Singh Vs State of Uttarpradesh and another [2006] 5 SCC 475, wherein, the Hon'ble Supreme Court has stated that the State should give sufficient protection for such marriages. Hence, the petitioners are directed to appear before the Deputy Commissioner of Police the 1st respondent herein and give a representation in person and on such representation being given, the same shall be enquired into and sufficient protection should be given to the petitioners to live in peace.
