O R D E R

(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 04.08.2020 for the offence punishable under Sections 4(1) (aaa) r/w 4(1-A) of TNP (Transport) Act, in Crime No.636 of 2020, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with the other accused were arrested for having transported 500 liters of I.D Arrack.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is innocent and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner, apart from this case, has got 7 previous cases and the quantity involved in this case is also huge. Hence, he objected for the grant of bail to the petitioner.

5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and that the petitioner is arrested only on 04.08.2020, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed for the present.
