PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, directing the respondent police not to harass the petitioner.

O R D E R
This petition has been filed to direct the respondent not to harass the petitioner under the guise of enquiry. 2.The learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner was convicted to undergo life imprisonment in S.C.No.399 of 1998, on the file of Vth Additional Sessions Judge, Chennai, by the judgment dated 10.04.2001. He further submitted that as against the said judgment, the petitioner has preferred an appeal in C.A.No.425 of 2001 and this Court has confirmed the Trial Court's sentence vide judgment dated 27.09.2005 and thereafter, the petitioner has surrendered before the respondent Police and he was lodged in Central Prison. He further submitted that after serving 14 years of sentence, as per the G.O.(MS).No.559, Home Pri(IV) Dept, dated 18.06.2018 the petitioner was released on 20.06.2018.

3. He further submitted that, thereafter the petitioner has not indulged in any illegal activities, anti-social activities and he has been constantly watched by the Probationary Officer. He further submitted that the petitioner is having wife and two female children, and that being so, the respondent is coming to the petitioner's house even in the midnight and harassing the petitioner under the guise of inquiry and hence he requests to direct the respondent not to harass the petitioner.
4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor has submitted that, since the petitioner was the life convict, the respondent has directed the police men to watch his conducts and apart from that he was not subjected to any harassment. 5.Considering the aforesaid submissions, the respondent can watch the petitioner's activities, but he should not harass the petitioner and his family members unnecessarily. 6.With the aforesaid observations, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
