O R D E R

(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 14.07.2020 for the offence punishable under Sections 4(1) (a), 1(1-A) ii of TNP Act, in Crime No.321 of 2020, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner was found in possession of 31 bottles of illicit liquor.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is innocent and he has been falsely implicated and arrested in this case. Hence, he prays for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner is involved in several previous cases of similar in nature. Hence, he objected for the grant of bail to the petitioner.

5. Heard both sides and perused the entire materials available on records.

6. It is seen that as per the lower Court order, the petitioner is stated to have involved in Crime Nos.72/2010, 6/2020, 423/2019, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

416/2019, 318/2019, 29/2019, 221/2019, 121/2019, 582/2018 and 502/2018 and that it is the profession of the petitioner to sell the illicit arrack.

7. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and that the petitioner is arrested only on 14.07.2020, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

8. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed for the present.
