Ms.G.Dhanamadhri, learned Government Advocate accepts notice for the respondent and is armed with instructions to proceed with the matter.

2. By consent expressed by both learned counsels, this writ petition is disposed finally even at the stage of admission.

3. The petitioner seeks a mandamus directing the assessing authority to dispose the rectification petition filed under the provisions of Tamil Nadu Value Added Tax Act, 2006 (in short 'Act') on 18.02.2020.

4. Ms.G.Dhanamadhri, learned Government Advocate, confirms that the aforesaid petition is pending.

5. It would thus suffice that a direction be issued to the officer to dispose the aforesaid petition, after hearing the petitioner, either over video conference or by way of physical hearing, as may be mutually convenient to the parties and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from today.

6. With the aforesaid direction, this writ petition is disposed. No costs.
