Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent authorities to restore the Patta No.1526, in respect of land comprised in S.No.268/2, measuring Ac.01-53 cents, Vallam B Village, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram District, in the name of the petitioner and his co-owner and direct the respondent authorities to pay suitable compensation to the petitioner for the inordinate delay caused by the respondents in restoring the patta in respect of the petitioner's land, within a time to be fixed by this Court.

This Writ Petition is filed to direct the respondent authorities to restore the patta in the name of the petitioner and his co-owner and also to direct them to pay suitable compensation to the petitioner for the inordinate delay caused by the respondents in restoring the patta. 2/6

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents 1 to 3 and perused the materials available on record.

It is the case of the petitioner that despite the SIPCOT has sent a communication that the land purchased by the petitioner is not within the acquisition and they may be exempted, patta has not been transferred in the name of the petitioner. Hence, the present Writ Petition. 4.

The learned counsel for the fourth respondent / SIPCOT submitted that they sent a communication as early as on 18.06.2010 itself and No Objection Letter has also given on 11.03.2021 for granting patta. 5.

The learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents 1 to 3 submitted that in view of the communication sent by the SIPCOT and No Objection Letter issued by them, the respondents 1 to 3 shall process the application of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within a period of one month.

In such view of the matter, there shall be a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to consider the case of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on the same for issuance of patta in the name of the petitioner, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.

With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
