This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to enquire and file a final report before the appropriate Court in Crime No.347 of 2013 on the file of the respondent police.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that on 19.4.2013 at 7.00p.m.,when the petitioner's wife and her minor daughter were returning from temple, a bus owned by State Transport Corporation bearing No.TN 30N 1177 hit the petitioner's wife and fled away without stopping. Due to the said accident, the petitioner's wife died. The petitioner lodged a complaint on 05.07.2013 before the respondent police and the same was registered in Crime No.347 of 2013 for the offence under section 304-A of IPC. Though three years have lapsed, till date, there was no progress on the said complaint. Hence, the present petition.

3. Heard, the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor.

4. Without going into the merits of the contentions raised by the petitioner, this Court directs the respondent police to complete the investigation and file a final report in respect of Crime No.347 of 2013 on the file of the respondent police as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The Criminal Original Petition is disposed of accordingly.
