ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed praying for a direction directing the respondent not to harass the petitioners based on the representation dated 16.09.2015 given by the first petitioner.

2.Heard the learned counsel for petitioners and learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

3. It is seen that on a complaint lodged by one Vadivel, the respondent police have registered a case in Crime No.531 of 2015 against one Vediappan, who is the son of petitioners 1 and 2. The allegation against the said Vediappan is that he has abducted Vadevelu's grand daughter Jagadeeswari. In connection with the said case, these petitioners were called for enquiry, in order to find out the whereabouts of Vediappan and Jagadeeswari.

4. In the circumstances, no blanket order of not to harass can be passed and the petitioners are directed to cooperate with the police when they make enquiry and at the time of conducting enquiry, the petitioners shall not be https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

harassed. During the course of enquiry, if any cognizable offence is made out, the respondent police is free to register an FIR and this order shall not be a shield for the petitioners against arrest.
