This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the learned Metropolitan Magistrate, Fast Track Court at Magistrate Level - IV, George Town, Chennai -1 to dispose the case in C.C.No.2216 of 2018 within the time frame manner.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the materials available on record.
3. It is the contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner that the proceedings initiated under Section 138 of N.I. Act has been protracted for more than 4 years, due to the non appearance of the accused. Since the offences under Section 138 Act to be tried summarily, the Trial Court can dispose the matter expeditiously.
4. In view of the above, there shall be direction to the learned Metropolitan Magistrate, Fast Track Court at Magisterial https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Level - IV, George Town, Chennai -1 to dispose the case in C.C.No.2216 of 2018 on merits within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petitions stands disposed of.
