Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to appoint the petitioner in the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation on compassionate ground in any one of the vacancy as the petitioner is entitled.

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner would state that his mother, who was employed as a Sanitary worker in the services of Kavundampalayam Panchayat between 1971 to 2015 died in harness on 15.07.2005. At the time of her death, he was aged about 13 years. The petitioner would submit that he met with an accident during the year 1993 and it took 3 years for him to recovery from the said accident. The petitioner further stated that he also got married and begot two children. On 05.02.2007, he submitted a representation to the Commissioner and the Executive Officer of Kavundampalayam Municipality for compassionate ground appointment and he was advised to submit certain records and all relevant records are also been submitted. Thereafter, the Kavundampalayam Municipality was merged with the Coimbatore City https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Municipal Corporation and the petitioner also repeatedly submitted representation to the said Corporation seeking compassionate ground appointment and last of such representation was submitted on 18.5.2015. Since no orders have been passed, came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Heard the submissions of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.K.Natarajan, learned counsel who accepts notice on behalf of respondents 1 and 2.

4. Though the petitioner prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 18.05.2015, in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
